Dr. Kimmy Kirscht

THERAPEUTIC OPTOMETRIST

Dr. Kirscht’s journey into optometry started at the age of nine when she was first in her family to receive a pair of glasses. Being the ever-curious individual, Dr. Kirscht scoured the library to learn more about eyes and along the way, discovered her fascination for science and health. As the years progressed, she started her first job as an optometric technician in high school where she developed more interest in the complexities of the eye. Dr. Kirscht became determined to educate herself and her community through the prevention and treatment of ocular and vision health.

After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio with Honors, she went on to study for her Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio. During her academic career, she received a coveted Clinical Excellence Award for her clinical performance and worked as a teaching assistant to help other students further develop their clinical skills. She completed her externship training at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from her program in 2017. Dr. Kirscht is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist licensed by the Texas Optometry Board. She is also an active member of both the North Texas Optometric Society and American Optometry Association.

When she is not working with patients, Dr. Kirscht enjoys spending time with her husband, James, and their two dogs, Mochi and Boba.
